Commissioners Dan Saltzman and Nick Fish debated with teens at De La Salle North High School Monday evening. Among the teens on the panel was Deanna Hartley, pictured here with Commissioner Fish. Also participating were college-bound seniors, Skyler Debnam, Onna Lisa Kyom, and Donald Foster. The debate, a fundraiser for Leukemia and Lymphoma research, was organized by senior Shantel Monk in honor of De La Salle chemistry teacher Joseph Halloran, who is a lymphoma patient.
Audience questions covered topics such as the Wall Street bailout, Portland's economy and what young people need from adults.
