UPDATE: Police sent an update saying a fourth person had been detained. It reads as follows:
"Investigators have detained a fourth person in connection with this morning's shooting in the Parkrose neighborhood. The victim and black SUV have been located. Preliminary information to investigators indicates that this shooting incident may have started after an attempted sexual assault at a residence in the area."
Portland Police say three Black youth are in custody after a shooting in Parkrose. North Precinct officers were called out to Northeast 103rd Avenue and Sandy Boulevard at 5:48 a.m. Thursday.
Witnesses told police that five African American males were involved. One of them fired a gun towards a black SUV.
An officer arriving in the area was flagged down by a woman in a black GMC Yukon who told police that someone had shot out here back window. The woman, possibly African American or Hispanic according to police, left the area in the SUV.
Three African American boys who matched the descriptions of suspects were detained. No gun has yet been recovered. The Gang Enforcement Team is investigating.
