Today, in unified support for Kamala Harris as president of the United States, all 17 Oregon Senate Democrats officially endorsed her.

Senate Democratic Leader Kathleen Taylor (D - SE Portland, Milwaukie & Oak Grove) released the following statement on behalf of the caucus:

“First and foremost, we want to say thank you to President Biden, who will be remembered as one of the greatest public servants in American history. It is now on all of us to honor his selfless decision and put our hearts and souls into electing the candidate most qualified to carry on his incredible legacy: Vice President Kamala Harris.

Now, more than ever, our country needs unity and stability – and that’s exactly what Vice President Harris will bring to the White House.

Vice President Harris is a proven leader Oregonians can trust. She worked closely with President Biden to deliver major wins for our state, including historic investments to grow good-paying jobs in our state, initiatives to lower prescription and healthcare costs, the expansion of rural broadband, and so much more for working families in Oregon.

We stand shoulder to shoulder with Vice President Harris and President Biden in service to our fellow Americans. Together, we will win.”

Across the country, the American people are energized to support the Vice President’s campaign. Since announcing her candidacy, Vice President Harris garnered more grassroots donations in 24 hours than any other presidential candidate in history. Her campaign also signed up more than 28,000 new volunteers.

President Biden and Vice President Harris won the Oregon primary with 87% of the vote.
